Covering One's Ears While Stealing a Bell
Once upon a time, there was a greedy young man who lived in a small village. One day, he walked past a temple and saw a large bronze bell. The bell was especially beautiful, glistening in the sunlight, and produced a crisp, melodious sound when the wind blew. He really wanted it.
The young man thought, "I must steal this bell!" But the bell would make a sound with just a gentle touch, and if he removed the bell, everyone would hear it. He was afraid of being discovered, so he had to think of a plan.
The young man thought and thought, and finally came up with an idea. He stuffed his ears with cotton, so he wouldn't be able to hear the bell's sound. He thought that if he couldn't hear it, neither could anyone else.
So, the young man walked into the temple and hit the bell hard with a hammer. The bell produced a huge sound, but the young man couldn't hear it. He smiled happily, thinking that nobody heard it.
However, everyone in the village heard the loud sound. They quickly ran over and saw the young man trying to steal the bell. They caught the young man and took him to the authorities.
