Bowmore is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the island of Islay, on the west coast of Scotland. It was founded in 1779, making it one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Bowmore is known for producing a complex, peated whisky with flavors of smoke, sea salt, and fruit. The distillery has a visitor center that offers tours and tastings, and also hosts the annual Feis Ile whisky festival. Bowmore is owned by Beam Suntory, a subsidiary of the Japanese company Suntory Holdings.
